About
I am currently working as a consultant for the Brussels Office, which is a public affairs company working on wide range of EU related issues. It has in the past specialized itself on helping Norwegian business to understand and be “heard” in the EU. It has also for many years conducted various forms of EU training for civil servants in Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia and Macedonia. I have myself been very lucky to run some of these seminars together with my excellent colleagues. Furthermore, I have a strong personal interest in many policy areas that I work with or follow every day, related to the environment, energy, international migration and public policy responses, foreign policy and fisheries.
My background is quite varied, but I managed to complete a MSc in Politics and Government in the European Union at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the UK before moving to Brussels last year. I have previously worked as a Higher Executive Officer in the European Policy Section of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, two years as President of the political youth NGO, JEF-Norway and as a teacher at upper secondary level at Bjørknes Privatskole in Oslo.
I also have extensive experience from various volunteer work and positions, such as Norwegian Youth Representative to the United Nations General Assembly in 2003 (you can read my speech here)and UN-Habitat World Urban Forum in 2004. I’ve been actively involved in CISV, European Youth Parliament (EYP), Young European Federalist (JEF) and International Student Conference Model United Nations (ISCOMUN).
Finn Råd – EU training and policy analysis
I was running a small undertaking, ‘Finn Råd’ (Finn Advice) and I offered services within a range of areas (EU-training, policy analysis and more), but this business now dormant as I work as full time consultant for The Brussels Office.
I conducted country and policy analysis, international advocacy, developed interactive role plays simulating decision-making in the EU and the UN Security Council for various customers, such as the Norwegian UN Association and Oslo Region European Office.
